Tuition: $920 per week

Coached Ensemble Option: $250 per week.

The week-long workshops provide a daily (Monday-Friday) 60-minute private lesson, a one hour daily group class, and two hours of scheduled practice time (in a private studio) for each student, plus the opportunity to play and be coached in coached ensemble music not only with other clarinets, but also with flutists, guitarists, violinists, cellists, and pianists.

The workshop is open to students at all levels; there is no audition or entrance requirement other than owning an instrument and bringing it with you.

Jazz Jam Sessions with saxophonist Nathan Bellott

Add-on Option: $400 per week

SummerKeys is excited to offer jazz jam sessions with faculty member Nathan Bellott. Open to students enrolled in an instrumental program, this add-on program is structured to be low pressure and fun. These sessions are open to musicians with experience playing jazz repertoire who want to further their skills in playing with others.

Have you ever wanted to play the songs you’ve learned with a professional saxophonist? Have you ever wondered how to make an arrangement with another musician and how to “comp” for them during their solo? Perhaps you saw Kent Hewitt and Nathan’s performance at Summerkeys 2024 and wondered, “how did they do that?”

This program consists of five one hour individual daily coaching sessions with Nathan Bellot and will center around a particular song or theme. Concepts covered throughout the week will include: improvising solos, making an arrangement for performance, jazz history and recordings, light theory and more. Students will have the opportunity to perform at the Friday performance class.”
